§ 33.001 ESTABLISHMENT.
   (A)   (1)   There is established an Airport Board to be known as the Hopkinsville and Christian County Airport Board.
      (2)   The Board shall possess all the rights, powers, duties and obligations prescribed by law relating to such an Airport Board.
      (3)   It shall have full power and authority to establish, construct, maintain, operate, manage and control the airport, make such rules and regulations concerning the use of same and charges to be made therefor as it deems necessary.
   (B)   The members of the Airport Board appointed by the City Council shall serve without compensation.
   (C)   Members of the Board composed of ten members, shall serve for a term of four years each and until their successors are appointed and qualified; provided, however, that, initial appointments for the seventh through tenth members shall be made so that two members are appointed for two years and two members for four years as follows:
      (1)   The Christian County Judge/Executive shall appoint one new member for a two year term and one new member for a four-year term. Upon expiration of the new members' initial terms, their successors shall be appointed for a term of four years as authorized by KRS 183.132(13).
      (2)   The Mayor for the City of Hopkinsville shall appoint one new member for a two-year term and one new member for a four-year term. Upon expiration of the new members' initial terms, their successors shall be appointed for a term of four years as authorized by KRS 183.132(13).
   (D)   The Board shall during the month of January of each year submit a report in writing to the Council concerning its operations and activities for the prior 12-months’ period.
