§ 114.02 DEFINITIONS.
   For purposes of this chapter, the following words shall have the following meanings.
   CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER. The local governmental position, or his or her designee, as the case may be, whose official capacity oversees regulation and licensure of the activities hereby covered.
   POLICE CHIEF. The chief officer of law enforcement, or his or her designee, as the case may be, who is charged with protecting and serving the public's safety in the jurisdiction, including the activities hereby covered.
   REGISTRANT or REGISTERED SOLICITOR. Any person who is subject to this chapter who has obtained a valid permit from the Chief Financial Officer's office.
   RESIDENCE. Any living unit contained within any building or structure that is occupied by any person as a dwelling.
   SOLICITING. Any of the following activities:
      (1)   Seeking to obtain orders for the sale or exchange of goods, wares, merchandise or perishables of any kind, for any kind of remuneration or consideration, regardless of whether advance payment is sought;
      (2)   Seeking to obtain subscriptions to publications;
      (3)   Seeking to obtain donations of anything of value for the benefit of any association, organization, corporation or program; and
      (4)   Seeking to obtain orders or prospective customers for goods or services.
   SOLICITOR. A person engaged in the activities defined by this chapter as soliciting.
