The owner of any junk vehicle removed and disposed of pursuant to this chapter shall be solely liable for any loss or damage to the vehicle, including any contents within, while being removed or as a result of any subsequent sale or other disposition. However, the person removing the vehicle shall exercise ordinary care to prevent damage and loss thereto during transportation and during the impoundment period.
