(A) The Commission reserves the right to determine meter locations.
(B) Gas meters should be installed as near as practicable to the point where the service enters the building. Gas meters shall be so located as to be readily accessible for examination, reading, and replacement.
(C) All piping from the point where the service enters the building to the meter shall be exposed and accessible.
(D) The gas meter shall not be installed in a small, unventilated, or confined space.
(E) A gas meter should not be placed where it will be subjected to damage, such as in driveways, public passages, halls, coal bins, etc., or where it will be subjected to excessive corrosion.
(F) Gas meters shall be located at a minimum of three feet from any electric panel or meter, and a minimum of five feet from a furnace or incinerator flue connector. It is desirable to avoid extreme temperatures and sudden changes in temperature.
(G) Pressure regulators supplied from medium or high-pressure mains shall be installed outside of the building where practicable.
(H) The Commission or its designee reserves the right to enter upon the real estate and/or structure for the sole purpose of installing, maintaining, reading, removing, terminating, or any other utility service function necessary dealing with the meter, lines, pipes, or other city apparatuses used in providing utilities. In the event the landlord, tenant, or occupant of the premises or real estate denies such entry, the Commission reserves the right to terminate the service and to estimate the charges for utilities provided.
