(A) A Vacant Property Review Commission is established to review and certify to the City Council that certain properties and/or structures are blighted and deteriorated.
(B) The Vacant Property Review Commission shall consist of five members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.
(C) The five members shall serve a four-year term with the initial terms to be staggered as shown below:
(1) One member: four years;
(2) One member: three years;
(3) One member: two years; and
(4) Two members: one year.
(D) Vacancies in the Vacant Property Review Commission shall be filled by the Mayor in the prescribed manner listed in divisions (B) and (C) above. If a vacancy is not filled by the Mayor within 60 days of the occurrence of said vacancy, then City Council will fill the vacancy. The appointee to the vacant position will serve the length of the unexpired term.
(E) The Director of the Hopkinsville - Christian County Planning Commission will provide staff support to the Vacant Property Review Commission.
