The designation of dwellings or dwelling units as unfit for human habitation under this chapter is hereby authorized under the authority and provisions of KRS 80.620 through 80.720, which are incorporated herein by reference. The procedures for repairing, vacating, altering, improving, closing and demolishing unfit dwellings shall be in accordance with the provisions of those statutes. The public officers as provided in those statutes are designated as the Building Inspector or the Chief of the Fire Department. The presently existing and continuing Board of Zoning Adjustment for the city as established pursuant to KRS 100.217 is designated as the Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals as referred to in the code adopted herein and any and all applicable statutes. The provisions of and procedures provided by state law as referred to and incorporated herein by reference are in addition to the other provisions and procedures provided in this chapter.
