Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter or failing to comply with any of its requirements, including violations of conditions and safeguards established in connection with grants of variance or special exceptions shall constitute an offense under this chapter and shall result in a fine. The first offense shall result in a fine of not greater than $300. A second offense shall result in a fine of not greater than $500. All other offenses shall result in a fine of not greater than $600. Each day that a violation continues shall constitute a separate offense. Nothing herein contained shall prevent the city from taking other lawful action as is necessary to prevent or remedy any violation.
