§ 150.22 FIRE CHIEF APPOINTED PUBLIC OFFICER; ADDITIONAL POWERS.
   (A)   Pursuant to the provisions of KRS Ch. 80, the Chief of the Fire Department is designated and appointed as ex-officio public officer, and authorized to exercise such powers as are necessary or expedient to carry out and effectuate the purposes and provisions of that chapter, and of the ordinances of the city.
   (B)   In addition to the powers granted the public officer in this section, he or she shall have the authority:
      (1)   To investigate the dwelling conditions in the city in order to determine which dwellings therein are unfit for human habitation;
      (2)   To administer oaths, affirmations, examine witnesses and receive evidence;
      (3)   To enter upon premises for the purpose of making examinations. Entries shall be made in such manner as to cause the least possible inconvenience to the persons in possession;
      (4)   To appoint and fix the duties of whatever officers, agents and employees he deems necessary to carry out the purposes of the ordinances; and
      (5)   To delegate any of his or her functions and powers under this section to such officers and agents as he or she designates.
