Police community service officers shall, when on duty as assigned by the Chief of Police, have the authority to direct traffic or assist in non-hazardous criminal investigations and programs of the Department. Police community services officers shall not, however, have the power to make an arrest and shall not carry or use, or be permitted to carry or use any firearm.
