§ 35.05 PAID POLICE OFFICERS.
   (A)   The Town Council may appoint one or more police officers to serve at the will and pleasure of the Town Council.
   (B)   To qualify for service as a paid police officer, a person must meet the minimum physical, mental, moral and educational standards established by the State Commission on Law Enforcement Officer’s Standards.
   (C)   A paid police officer of the town shall serve for an indefinite term, which may be terminated at any time at the will and pleasure of the Town Council.

§ 35.06 MANUAL OF RULES AND PROCEDURES.
   The Chief of Police and the person of the town serving as liaison to the Police Department shall prepare a manual of rules and procedures governing the conduct of the Chief of Police and all police officers; provided, however, such rules shall not take effect until such manual is approved by the affirmative vote of a majority of Council present and voting at any regular or special meeting of the Town Council thereof. Such manual may be amended from time to time only by the affirmative vote of the majority of Town Council present and voting at any regular or special meeting of said Town Council.

§ 35.07 DUTIES OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE AND OFFICERS.
   Police officers of the town, both paid and volunteer, shall have power to perform those duties imposed upon a marshal of a Type A municipality by the Constitution and laws of the state or the ordinance of said town and such other duties as may from time to time be prescribed by the Town Council of said town. The Chief of Police shall have the duties of the police officer and, in addition, shall be top supervisor and manager of the day-to-day operations set forth herein. The Chief of Police will perform such other duties as may be required by the Town Council.
