§ 35.04 APPOINTMENT, QUALIFICATION AND TERM OF OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE.
   (A)   The Town Council may appoint a Chief of Police to serve at the will and pleasure of the Town Council.
   (B)   To qualify for service as the Chief of Police, a person must:
      (1)   Meet the minimum physical, mental, moral and educational standards established by the State Commission on Law Enforcement Officer’s Standards; and
      (2)   Reside within 30 miles of the municipal boundaries of the town.
   (C)   The Chief of Police of the town shall serve for an indefinite term, which may be terminated at any time at the will and pleasure of the Mayor and Town Council.
