§ 32.01 COUNCIL MEMBERS ELECTED FOR DESIGNATED PLACES.
   (A)   Adoption of state law. The provisions of Tex. Local Gov’t Code, Chapter 21, are hereby adopted by the Town Council, and the Council members of said town shall hereafter be elected by the place system.
   (B)   Procedure. As soon as possible after the enactment of this section, the Town Council shall assign to the offices of Council members then held by the incumbent members thereof the place numbers “Council Member, Place No. 1”, “Council Member, Place No. 2”, “Council Member, Place No. 3”, “Council Member, Place No. 4” and “Council Member , Place No. 5”. The Council members assignments for Council Member, Place No. 1 and Council Member, Place No. 2 shall be determined by lot. Thereafter, as the terms of the incumbent Council members expire, any candidate for the office of Council members in any town election in said town shall file his or her application for a specific place on the Town Council and, in such election, the ballot shall show each office of Council members as a separate office by place number, with the name of each candidate printed thereon under the specific office for which such person is a candidate.
