9-1-11: PENALTIES:
   A.   Violation Of Chapter: Any person who shall violate a provision of this chapter or the code adopted hereby or shall fail to comply therewith or with any of the requirements thereof, or who shall erect, construct, alter or repair, or remove, or have erected, constructed, altered or repaired, or removed a building or structure in violation of a detailed statement or plan submitted and approved thereunder, or of a permit or certificate issued thereunder, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code.    B.   Violation Of Title:
      1.   Penalty Imposed: Any person, firm or corporation who shall engage in any business, trade or vocation for which a license, permit, certificate or registration is required by this title, without having a valid license, permit, certificate, or certificate of registration as required, or who shall fail to do anything required by this title or by any code adopted by this title, or who shall otherwise violate any provision of this title or of any code adopted by this title, or who shall violate any lawful regulation or order made by any of the officers provided for in this title, shall be guilty of an offense and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code.       2.   Relief In Courts: No penalty imposed by and pursuant to this title shall interfere with the right of the city also to apply to the proper courts of the state for a mandamus, an injunction or other appropriate action against such person, firm or corporation. (1985 Code § 5-1002)
