For the purpose of this chapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
PEDDLER. Any person who sells or offers for sale any goods, wares and merchandise from any stand, shelf, table, box or other contrivance or from any parked vehicle of any kind or who shall go from place to place for the purpose of selling same.
