(A) Any person may kill a dog in self-defense or in defense of another when the dog, without due provocation, bites him, her or another, or attacks or attempts to bite or attack him, her or another in such manner that an ordinarily prudent person would believe that the person toward whom the efforts of the dog are directed is about to be bitten or otherwise physically harmed.
(B) This law does not apply to individuals or groups of individuals who may be trespassing on the property of the dog owner. The right to protect one’s property remains intact.
