(A) General powers and duties: The Chief of Police shall have and perform the following powers and duties:
(1) The Chief shall be the head of the city’s law enforcement agency and shall be responsible for leading the Department and overseeing the Department budget; and
(2) Have such other powers and duties as may be prescribed by law or ordinance.
(B) Qualifications and requirements.
(1) Must be CLEET certified prior to assuming the position and throughout employment as Chief; and
(2) Must live within 60 miles of the city limits.
