It hereby is declared to be the purpose of the revenues provided by the 5% hotel/motel tax levied by this subchapter to provide revenues for economic development, chamber-tourism, park-lake development, city employee raises, and city streets, in equal shares, within the city. All taxes collected pursuant to the provisions of this subchapter shall be deposited into the city’s General Fund. The City Council shall annually appropriate said funds to support the said governmental purposes.
