There is hereby created a Board of Adjustment consisting of five members, appointed by the Mayor with confirmation of the Council, and removable for cause by the City Council upon written charges and after public hearing. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term of any members whose term becomes vacant. The Board of Adjustment shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. It is the declared policy of the Council that it will consider and appoint only those persons who have demonstrated their civic interest, general knowledge of the community, independent judgment, and availability to prepare for and attend meetings.
