(A) Police pension system. There is hereby created the Police Pension and Retirement System of the city for the purpose of providing pension benefits for retired and disabled police personnel, their widows and children, in accordance with state law governing police retirement.

(B) Board of Trustees. A Board of Trustees of the Police Pension and Retirement System shall be formed according to law and it shall administer such system and carry out any and all duties assigned to or granted it by law, including the distribution of money received by it from the state or from other sources.

(C) State laws adopted. The provisions of state law, and amendments made thereto, are hereby adopted by reference as a part of this section as though literally rewritten and restated herein, insofar as such statutes pertain to police retirement.
