For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ADDRESS. The number assigned a primary structure on a parcel identifying its location on a roadway.
AVENUE. A roadway that extends in a general north and south direction.
BEND. A southwest or northeast winding irregular roadway that does not lend itself to any other direction.
BOULEVARD. A roadway that extends in a general southeast or northwest diagonal direction and connects at least two U.S. Government Survey sections. The roadway must also be a collector.
CIRCLE. A short roadway that extends in a general north or south direction and returns to itself.
COURT. A short roadway that terminates in an east or west cul-de-sac.
DRIVE. A roadway that extends in a general southwest or northeast diagonal direction and connects at least two U.S. Government Survey sections. The roadway must also be a collector.
LANE. A short roadway that terminates in a north or south dead end.
LOOP. A short roadway that extends in a general east or west direction and returns to itself.
PLACE. A short roadway that terminates in a north or south cul-de-sac.
PRIMARY STRUCTURE. A building in which the principal use of a lot or parcel is conducted. This may include residential, commercial, industrial or other uses.
ROADWAY. A public thoroughfare, which affords principal means of access to abutting property.
STREET. A roadway that extends in a general east and west direction.
TRAIL. A southeast or northwest winding irregular roadway that does not lend itself to any other direction.
WAY. A short roadway that terminates in a east or west dead end.
