§ 39.65 CITY TREASURER.
   Job description, duties and responsibilities. Class Code 1101.
   (A)   Classification: salaried full-time non-elected city officer.
   (B)   Characteristics of the class. This is responsible administrative and clerical work serving as City Treasurer. Work involves responsibility for maintaining various journals and ledgers in accounting for all financial transactions, and preparing financial statements and budget reports. Does related work as required.
   (C)   Examples of duties.
      (1)   Responsible for quarterly reports.
      (2)   Responsible for the accounting of city revenue.
      (3)   Responsible for the custody and disbursement of all city revenue budget.
      (4)   Prepares city payroll and maintains payroll records.
      (5)   Prepares monthly reports.
      (6)   Assists in preparing annual budget for approval by Council.
   (D)   Minimum requirements.
      (1)   Training and experience. Graduation from high school. Course in bookkeeping or accounting. One (1) year of experience in bookkeeping or related field.
      (2)   Special knowledge, skills and abilities. Thorough knowledge of standard accounting procedures. Thorough knowledge of the organization and functions of city government and of the laws and regulations governing city government. Ability to write clear and accurate reports on complex subjects. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, city officials and employees.
