Upon determination of the Chief of Police or Fire Chief of the city, or the designated representative of either as appropriate, that an alarm device is defective, as defined in § 98.01, he may order it disconnected and the permit for the alarm device suspended until such time as he is satisfied that the alarm device is in proper working order. The effect of summons of a Department by an alarm device deemed to be defective and before its permit is restored shall be the same as though the permit had not been issued as provided in § 98.06.
