After the filing of the application as provided in § 98.04, for each succeeding calendar year in which the signal device is in operation, on or before February 1, of that calendar year, the person owning, leasing, renting, or controlling the device shall renew the permit for the sum of $25, to defray the cost to the city of operating the equipment necessary to receive the signals within the Police or Fire Departments. The permit fee of $25 per year is waived as to those alarm devices transmitting their signals into the Police Department system installed in the Police Department to receive burglar alarm signals as provided in Ordinance No. 1980-39, provided, however, that all other provisions of this chapter shall apply to such alarm devices.
