The Police Department shall consist of the following employees: one Chief of Police; one Captain of Police; three Sergeants of Police; 12 police patrol officers; four police dispatchers; and one Administrative Assistant. A person over 21 years of age may be appointed to the Police Department as a police patrol officer upon satisfactory completion of an examination administered by the city’s Civil Service Commission and provided the person has met the physical requirements necessary to perform the duties of police patrol officer, and the person has a valid Ohio driver’s license, in addition to meeting all requirements set by Ohio statutes and rules of the city’s Civil Service Commission.
