The Treasurer shall be elected for a term of four years, commencing on January 1 next after his or her election. He or she shall be an elector of the city. For the year beginning January 1, 1993, the compensation for the Treasurer shall be $4,160. For years beginning after January 1, 1994, the compensation of the Treasurer shall be $4,326.
