§ 159.27 SEDIMENT BASINS.
   (A)   Where five acres or more of the development area are disturbed in one watershed, stormwater runoff from that watershed shall pass through a sediment basin or other suitable sediment trapping facility with equivalent or greater storage capacity. The city may require sediment basins or traps for smaller disturbed areas where deemed necessary. The sediment basin requirement may also be waived, by variance, if the city agrees that site conditions do not warrant its construction.
   (B)   Unless otherwise designed, sediment basins are temporary and shall be removed following final stabilization or their approved methods of stabilization of the contributing watershed.
