An accessory use to an authorized use in the residence district, when located on the same lot and not involving the conduct of a business, shall be permitted as follows:
(a) Customary home occupation engaged in by occupants of a dwelling not involving the conduct of a business on the premises; or
(b) The office of physician, dentist or other professional person may be located in the dwelling used by him or her as a private residence; no sign exceeding one square foot in area containing the name and occupation of the occupant of the premises shall be permitted in any residence district.
