For the purpose of this article, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
FENCE. A vertical, freestanding barrier or enclosure constructed of wood, masonry or metal which supports no load other than its own weight.
OPEN. A fence in which openings between the materials of which the fence is constructed represent not less than 40% of the total surface of the fence when viewed perpendicular to the face of the fence.
SOLID FENCE. A fence so constructed that it completely obstructs the view.
