1523.01 CHARGES.
(a) Emergency medical service and ambulance transport shall be provided by the City of Highland Heights Fire Department in response to a call for such services within the City, and outside the City under provisions of a mutual aid agreement or applicable law governing mutual aid.
(b) Each person transported to a medical facility by the emergency medical services of the Highland Heights Fire Department shall be charged a user fee as follows:
Basic Life Support Transport (BLS) | $600.00 per transport |
Advanced Life Support Transport (ALS) (ALS I) | $700.00 per transport |
Advanced Life Support Transport (ALS II) | $950.00 per transport |
ALS/BLS per loaded transport mile | $15.00 per mile |
(c) Usual and customary rate (UCR) shall be accepted by the City for every person
transported even if a provider contract does not exist with the insurance provider. Notwithstanding the acceptance of UCR, co-payments due under individual contracts remain the responsibility of the patient unless otherwise waived under this chapter or by the Fire Chief.
(d) With regard to emergency medical or ambulance transportation services provided to a non-resident patient pursuant to a mutual aid response in another municipality, the individual(s) shall be charged in the same manner as a resident of the City of Highland Heights.
