1501.25 COMMERCIAL KITCHEN EXHAUST SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS.
1501.251 Permit Required.
After plans for a commercial kitchen exhaust suppression system are approved by the Fire Prevention Bureau, a permit for installation shall be issued.
1501.252 Plans and Certifications.
(a) Prior to the issuance of a permit, a complete set of plans shall be submitted to and approved by the Fire Prevention Bureau.
(b) The company and the installer must present State certification cards.
(c) Any system proposed for installation must carry documents or certification that the system is listed under the U.L. - 300 listing.
1501.253 Where Required; New Systems.
Each new commercial kitchen exhaust hood and duct system shall be protected with an approved automatic fire suppression system, tested and listed by Underwriters Laboratories, under the standard U.L. - 300, and installed in accordance with the Ohio Fire Code.
1501.254 Where Required; Existing Systems.
(a) Each existing commercial kitchen fire suppression system shall be replaced with one that meets U.L. - 300 listing when any of the following changes occur.
(1) Any change in cooking medium.
(2) Any change of appliances.
(3) Expansion of the existing system. (Ord. 30-1996. Passed 9-10-96.)
