733.07 DISCOVERY OF ABANDONED WELL.
   (a)    Any person being the owner or lessee of land, who discovers an abandoned gas or oil well, shall immediately notify the Fire Chief and the Building Commissioner.
   (b)    Any person who discovers an abandoned gas or oil well during the development of any land or the construction of any building shall immediately cease all operations until notification is given to the Building Commissioner and the Fire Chief and such well is treated in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.
   (c)    No person engaged in any phase of construction shall remove any casing or piping of any abandoned well until such well has been reported to the Building Commissioner and the Fire Chief and to the representative of the Department of Natural Resources. No construction shall take place either over or near an abandoned gas or oil well until such well has been inspected and the recommended type of treatment has been made by the Fire Chief in conformity with the laws of the State of Ohio and the provisions of this chapter.
