(a) The Mayor may appoint such Deputy Clerks as he deems advisable, who shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor, to perform the duties pertaining to the office of the Clerk of the Mayor's Court. Deputy Clerk shall be compensated out of the Village Treasury as Council may prescribe.
(b) Each Deputy Clerk shall take an oath of office before entering upon his or her duties; the Mayor may require any Deputy Clerk to give bond which bond shall not exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) conditioned upon the faithful performance of their respective duties, and the premium of said bond shall be paid by the Village.
