147.03 SENIOR CITIZEN ADVISORY BOARD ESTABLISHED.
     (a)    Appointment and Terms of Members. There is hereby created a Senior Citizen Advisory Board (hereinafter referred to as SAB) which shall be comprised of a minimum of nine (9) and as many as fifteen (15) representatives. The Mayor shall appoint all members to the Senior Citizen Advisory Board. The Mayor shall use his/her best efforts to appoint representatives of each of the duly organized and existing Senior Citizen organizations in the Village, provided said member to be appointed is a resident. The President of Council shall have authority to appoint one member of the Senior Citizen Advisory Board who shall be a resident, and may be a member of Village Council. The terms of all members appointed shall be for two years. The terms of the members shall be staggered with no less than five (5) members being appointed each year.
   
   (b)   Meetings. The Senior Citizen Advisory Board shall meet at regular intervals (bi-monthly). The Senior Citizen Advisory Board shall, by majority vote, select from among its members (excluding a member of Village Council, if appointed as a member), a Chairperson, a Vice-Chairperson and a Secretary. The Chair shall preside and chair all regular and special meetings of the Senior Citizen Advisory Board. The Vice-Chairperson shall stand in for the Chairperson when said person is absent. The Secretary shall be required to maintain minutes of all meetings. The Director of Senior Services shall be an ex-officio member of the Senior Citizen Advisory Board but shall not have authority to vote. The Director shall have an active voice in all matters that come before said Board. The Senior Citizen Advisory Board shall make recommendations and proposals for various programs, services and similar activities for the Senior Citizen of the Village. The Director shall be required to implement all decisions and/or directives of the Senior Citizen Advisory Board. (Ord. 2020-26. Passed 2-12-20.)
