   1361.03 CURING; FINISHING; MIXING.
   (a)    A curing compound must be applied immediately after broom finishing, without damaging the surface, according to manufacturer's recommendations.
   (b)    Calcium or other admixtures shall not be added at the job site.
   (c)    A broom finish shall be required. Finishing must be delayed until water sheen (bleed water) has disappeared from the surface.
   (d)    Cement shall not be dusted upon a plastic-like surface.
   (e)    Water shall not be sprinkled upon a surface as a finishing aid.

   1361.04 BASE.
    (a)    The base shall be smooth and shall consist of undisturbed or compacted earth. A stone, gravel, limestone screening or nonsettling material approved by the CBO may be used as a leveling course. Excavations or trenches under a drive must be compacted and filled with a nonsettling material. Fills shall be placed in four-inch lifts and each lift shall be compacted. Use of foundry byproducts will not be permitted.
   (b)    The subgrade or base shall be dampened if dry before pouring.

   1361.05 JOINTS.
   (a)    Control joints, whether hand tooled or sawn, shall be to a depth of one-fourth the thickness of the slab. The dimensions of any control panel shall be as follows: for sidewalks - five (5) feet; for driveways - ten feet; for concrete pavements - fourteen (14) feet.
   (b)    Isolation joints shall be required where concrete abuts any structure, including, but not limited to, foundations, garage floors, stoops, paved streets and Village sidewalks. A superior method of construction, particularly where concrete work abuts a stoop, may be approved by the CBO.

   1361.06 TIME OF POUR.
   (a)    Where the temperature in the surrounding area is below seventy degrees Fahrenheit, the maximum allowable time from load to pour shall be one and one-half hours.
   (b)    Where the temperature in the surrounding area is above seventy degrees Fahrenheit, the maximum allowable time from loading to pour shall be one hour.
   (c)    When concrete is placed at or below an atmospheric temperature of forty degrees Fahrenheit, or whenever the predicted temperature will fall below forty degrees Fahrenheit within the curing period, the water or aggregate, or both, shall be heated and suitable enclosures and heating devices shall be provided. The concrete shall be placed at a temperature of not less than fifty degrees Fahrenheit and not more than seventy degrees Fahrenheit, and the air surrounding the forms and deposited concrete shall be maintained within this temperature range for not less than five days.
   (d)    When the atmospheric temperature is forecast for fifty degrees Fahrenheit or less, curing compounds shall not be used, but a sealer in a mixture of fifty percent boiled linseed oil and fifty percent turpentine or mineral spirits shall be used.

   1361.07 RESIDENTIAL CONCRETE DRIVE: PLANT AND CONTRACTOR'S REPORT.
   (a)    In any construction within the application of this chapter, all suppliers shall, at the time of loading for delivery to a user, complete a form entitled the Residential Concrete Drive: Plant and Contractor's Report. Part I shall state:
      (1)    Delivery destination;
      (2)    Size of load;
      (3)    Concrete mix;
      (4)    Air entrainment;
      (5)    Amount of water added at plant;
      (6)    Admixture added;
      (7)    Amount of calcium chloride added; and
      (8)    Time of truck loading.
   (b)    In any construction within the application of this chapter, the contractor or his or her agent shall complete a form entitled the Residential Concrete Drive: Plant and Contractor's Report. Part II shall state:
      (1)    The address or sublot number of the pour location;
      (2)    The time of arrival;
      (3)    The time of pour;
      (4)    The name of the builder or user;
      (5)    The name of the cement contractor or user;
      (6)    The amount of water at the time of pour;
      (7)    The area temperature at the time of pour; and
      (8)    The curing compound used and the type of sealer used.
   (c)    An original and two copies of the Report shall be signed by the individuals completing the report. Such persons do, by affixing their signatures to this Report, warrant that the statements contained therein are true under penalty of law. The original shall be sent to the CBO, a copy shall be sent to the builder and a copy shall be retained by the supplier.
