In addition to the criminal penalties set forth in Section 501.99, upon the failure of an owner to comply with an order of the Building Inspector, or his or her designee, with regard to a violation of this chapter, the Building Inspector, or his or her designee, shall be authorized to enter upon the premises and abate such violation. In abating a violation, the Building Inspector, or his or her designee, may take such action to abate the violation at the best price obtainable. The Building Inspector, or his or her designee, shall make a written report to the Village Fiscal Officer of his or her action with a statement of the charges for the services, the amount paid for labor and a proper description of the premises. These amounts shall be certified to the County Auditor and when allowed, shall be entered upon the tax duplicate of the premises, shall be a lien upon the lands from and after the date of entry and shall be collected as other taxes and returned to the Village.
