(a) The Mayor, upon authorization of Council, may from time to time enter into mutual fire aid programs and contracts with such other municipalities, townships or other governmental agencies as the Mayor and Council may deem advisable. Such agreements may be altered or amended by the Mayor and Council and the governmental agency having charge of such other fire department. The Fire Company shall furnish aid and assistance to such other fire department with which the Village has a mutual fire aid in compliance with the terms of each such mutual fire aid pact.
(b) The Fire Chief or Acting Chief in the Chief's absence is hereby authorized to call upon any such department, with which the Village may have a mutual fire aid pact, for assistance in fighting any fires or other disasters within the Village when in the Chief's or Acting Chief's absolute discretion such additional aid is necessary.
(c) It is provided further that the Fire Company is authorized to provide rescue service in any area with which the Village may have a mutual fire aid pact, when the same shall be necessary for the preservation of lives and property.
