(a) Council may purchase the necessary fire engines, apparatus, vehicles, pumps, hoses, ladders and such other equipment as may be necessary for the extinguishment of fires and the saving of lives and may establish lines of fire alarm within the limits of the Village.
(b) Council may provide or erect necessary and suitable buildings containing rooms for fire engines, hose carriages, fire apparatus and instruments and rescue vehicles and equipment and provide rooms for the meetings of the Fire and Rescue Companies.
