(a) The Fire Company shall answer calls and suppress any fires to the best of its ability which may from time to time break out within the Village, and assistant, when requested, in the suppression of any fires which arise in any area outside the Village, with which the Village has at the time of such fire, a mutual fire aid pact. The Fire Company may, when authorized by Council, conduct fire hazard inspections and notify the persons responsible of such fire hazards as may be found; to comply with such other instructions as Council may by ordinance provide.
(b) The Rescue Company shall provide ambulance service for the residents of the Village and shall provide ambulance service in areas surrounding the Village with which the Village has a mutual fire aid pact.
