(a) There is hereby created the position of Village Fiscal Officer. The Village Fiscal Officer shall have those powers, duties and functions as provided by the general laws of the State of Ohio and in addition other duties consistent with the nature of the office that are provided for by Village ordinance.
(b) The Village Fiscal Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor, but such appointment shall not become effective until approved by a majority vote of the Village Council. The Village Fiscal Officer may be removed at any time without cause by the Mayor with the consent of a majority of Council or may be removed by a three-fourths (3/4) vote of Council without the consent of the Mayor.
(c) The Village Fiscal Officer need not be a resident of the Village at the time of appointment, but shall become a resident within six months thereafter unless an ordinance is passed approving the Fiscal Officer’s residence outside of this Village.
