A. Adoption:
1. There is hereby adopted by reference, for the purpose of ensuring the public health, safety and welfare insofar as they are affected by the continued occupancy and maintenance of structures and premises by establishing rules, standards, and regulations and requirements for the continued use and maintenance of plumbing, mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems in all existing residential and nonresidential structures, together with the land on which they are situated, and to prevent blight and deterioration of neighborhoods, a property maintenance code known as the international property maintenance code, first printing, 2006 edition, published by the International Code Council, with specific additions, deletions, insertions, modifications that may hereinafter be stated in this section (which said code, as so amended, is hereinafter referred to as the "IPMC"). Not less than one copy of the IPMC, with any specified additions, deletions, insertions, modifications and amendments as provided for herein, has, for more than thirty (30) days prior to the adoption hereof, been filed and shall in the future be filed in the office of the village clerk of Heyworth.
2. The provisions of said code are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length and shall be controlling in regard to all premises, buildings and structures within the jurisdiction of the village of Heyworth. (Ord. 2010-42, 10-18-2010)
B. Amendments:
Insert the phrase "village of Heyworth, Illinois" in all locations in the international property maintenance code where parenthetical reference is made to the "name of jurisdiction".
Section 101.3. Delete the second and third sentences and substitute therefor the following:
An additional purpose of this code is to prevent blight and deterioration of neighborhoods. Existing structures and premises that do not comply with these provisions and which do not meet a minimum level of health and safety shall be altered or repaired to provide a minimum level of health and safety as required herein.
