The Village owns and maintains the public mains and the tees for service laterals. The customer is responsible for the sewer lateral piping from the tee to the residence. The customer is responsible for all drains, vents, cleanouts, piping and all other sewer related structures inside the house or structure. Should the customer need to excavate in the public right-of-way to make repairs, the customer is responsible to properly backfill the trench. The Village will repair the street and bill the customer for the cost of materials, or alternatively, the customer may have a contractor make repairs provided the repair method and materials are approved by the Director of Public Works.
