The Village owns and maintains the portion of the service line from the public water main to the right-of-way line or easement line including the saddle, corporation stop, curb stop, and curb box. The customer/owner is responsible for the water line from the right-of-way line or easement line to the house or structure. The customer is responsible for all the valves and plumbing inside the structure with the exception of the water meter. The water meter is owned and maintained by the Village. The customer will be responsible for the cost of meter repair or replacement should the meter be damaged by freezing or tampering.
