9-2-5: EXTENSION OF MAINS:
   A.   Extensions Authorized; Responsibility For Costs: Any property owner or developer desiring to extend the public water mains for the benefit of his property may do so at his own expense.
   B.   Specifications: Minimum main size shall be six inches (6") in diameter or larger, where required by the Board of Trustees to serve the future growth in the vicinity of the extension. All construction shall be in accordance with the latest edition of the "Standard Specifications for Water and Sewer Main Construction in Illinois". Pipe to be used shall be Class 150 cast iron, Class 51 ductile iron pipe or two hundred (200) psi PVC pipe conforming to accepted current standards of ASTM 1784 for schedule 40, 80 and 160 pipe, ASTM 2241 (SDR-DR) and no. 14 of the sanitation foundation (NSF) and be appropriately marked as specified by the foundation. Minimum acceptable pipe is one having standard dimension ratio of 21 (SDR-21) and type 1, grade 1 materials with a hydrostatic design stress of two thousand (2,000) psi for water at twenty three degrees centigrade (23°C) for a working pressure of two hundred (200) psi. Joints shall be of the single gasket type, or mechanical.
   C.   Hydrants Required: Fire hydrants shall be provided at all dead ends, at five hundred feet (500') spacing, at intersections, and at other locations required by the Board.
   D.   Gate Valves: Gate valves shall be provided at eight hundred feet (800') maximum spacing, or as required by the Board.
   E.   Location: Such public water main must be extended on a public right-of-way or public easement which is adjacent to the property to be served, and unless otherwise provided by the Village Board, shall, in every case, be extended across the entire property line which fronts on the public right-of-way or easement.
