7-9-5: OPERATION OF SNOWMOBILES:
   A.   Right Five Feet Of Roadway: Pursuant to the authority contained in subsection 5-2B of the Illinois snowmobile registration and safety act 1 , snowmobiles may be operated on the public highways in the village on the right five feet (5') of the roadway in use. "Roadway" is defined as that portion of the highway improved and ordinarily used for vehicular travel. During the time of snowfall, the definition of "roadway" is limited to that portion of the public highway which has been cleared by snowplows or other heavy equipment to permit the travel of ordinary passenger vehicles.
   B.   Warning Flag: It shall be unlawful to operate any snowmobile in the village unless a warning flag is attached on a pole extending not less than six feet (6') in elevation from the ground. Each flag shall be of an orange reflecting type material not less than one square foot in area. (Ord. 2009-109, 9-8-2009)
