A. Permit Required: The Village may authorize, in its discretion, upon receipt of application and good cause being shown therefor, issue a special permit authorizing the applicant to operate or move a vehicle or combination of vehicles of a size or weight of vehicle or load exceeding the maximum specified by statute or ordinance or otherwise not in conformity with State Statute or ordinance upon any highway under the jurisdiction of the party granting such permit and for the maintenance of which the party is responsible. B. Application For Permit: The application for any such permit shall be on a form approved by the Village**** and shall contain the following information:
1. Whether such permit is requested for a single trip or for limited continuous operation.
2. If the applicant is an authorized carrier under the Illinois Commercial Transportation Law 1 , and if so, provide his certificate, registration or permit number issued by the Illinois Commerce Commission.
3. Specific description and identification of the vehicle or vehicles and load to be operated or moved except for vehicles or vehicle combinations registered by the Department of Transportation provided in section 15-319 of the Illinois Vehicle Code 2 .
4. The routing requested including the points of origin and destination, and may identify and include a request for routing to the nearest certified scale in accordance with the Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
5. If the vehicles or loads are being transported for hire. (Ord. 2009-87, 7-6-2009; amd. 2011 Code)
C. Compliance With State Regulations Required: No permits for the movement of a vehicle or load for hire shall be issued to any applicant who is required under the Illinois Commercial Transportation Law 3 to have a certificate, registration or permit and does not have such certificate, registration or permit.
