6-2-4-1: RUNNING AT LARGE:
   A.   It shall be unlawful for any animal to run at large within the corporate limits of the village unless otherwise specified in this chapter. Any animal which runs at large in violation of this chapter is hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and such animal may be apprehended and impounded if found running at large by any police officer, animal warden, or other person authorized by the village. The owner or custodian of any animal that permits, suffers, or allows the same to run at large shall be in violation of this chapter and subject to the penalties as set forth in section 6-2-8 of this chapter.
   B.   In addition to the penalties set forth in section 6-2-8 of this chapter, the owner or custodian of any animal impounded by the village for running at large shall be fined an additional ten dollars ($10.00) per day penalty for each day the animal is impounded. The day the animal is impounded shall constitute the first day of impoundment. (Ord. 2012-46, 10-18-2012)
