AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE ZONING ADMINISTRATOR POSITION OF THE VILLAGE OF HEYWORTH
WHEREAS, the Village of Heyworth (hereinafter “Village”) is an Illinois municipal corporation created and authorized pursuant to the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/1-1 et seq.) and the laws and Constitution of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Village is authorized pursuant to Section 10-4-1of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/10-4-1) to provide by ordinance the relation between all municipal officers and employees in respect to each other, the municipality, and the people; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3.1-30-5 et seq. of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/3.1-30-5 et. seq.), the mayor, by and with the advice and consent of the board of trustees, may appoint officers necessary to carry into effect the powers conferred upon municipalities; and
WHEREAS, currently, the Village Zoning Code (Section 11-1-1 et seq.) references the position of Zoning Administrator, but the Village does not have a job description for the position that specifically details the requirements for the position other then what is set forth in the Zoning Code; and
WHEREAS, to better define the duties and responsibilities and other relevant considerations for the Zoning Administrator position, the Village Administration is recommending that a job description for the position of Zoning Administrator be defined; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board of Heyworth, with the recommendation of the Mayor and Village Administration, hereby believes it is in the public interest and general welfare of the Village to approve the job description for the position of Zoning Administrator for the Village, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit “A”;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Heyworth, McLean County, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: The preambles hereto are true and correct and are incorporated herein by reference as if fully set forth at this point.
Section 2: The Village Board of Trustees of Heyworth hereby approves the job description for the position of Zoning Administrator, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit “A”, which shall hereinafter be codified as Section 1-8M-1 et seq. of the Village Code.
Section 3: This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, signing and publication as required by law.
