6-2-5-7: RESPONSIBILITIES IMPOSED ON THOSE WHO FEED STRAY OR FERAL CATS:
   A.   It shall be unlawful for any person to feed stray or feral cats, if such feeding causes a nuisance to neighbors or creates a condition contrary to the health, safety, and welfare of the community.
   B.   Any person who undertakes to feed stray or feral cats shall assume responsibility and be liable for any damage to persons or property caused by the cats. In addition, such person shall be liable for and assume responsibility for seeing that the stray and feral cats are:
      1.   Neutered or spayed to prevent procreating;
      2.   Immunized against rabies and vaccinated in compliance with the laws of the state of Illinois;
      3.   Appropriately “tipped” on an ear to signify that they have been neutered/spayed and immunized. (Ord. 2023-51, 11-2-2023)
