No semitractors and/or trailers may be parked within the village of Herscher unless said vehicle is loading or unloading at a village of Herscher business. Said vehicles may be parked on private property that is properly zoned commercial or industrial. No on street parking of these vehicles is allowed without a special use permit issued by the police chief.
Upon receipt of special use permit from police chief, trucks or semitractors of one and one-half (11/2) tons' capacity or larger may be parked on paved residential property for a period of no longer than forty eight (48) consecutive hours.
Trucks or semitractors deemed unsightly, dirty, leaking fluids, omitting odor, etc., will be denied special use permit and not allowed to park on residential property for any amount of time.
Trailers must be parked or stored on property zoned commercial or industrial as stated previously. (Ord. 00-8, 12-4-2000)
Semitractor/trailer parking is prohibited from Route 115 southward to the north exit of the high school on both the east and west side of Main Street. (Ord. 02-5, 2-18-2002)
