For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE. Any motorized off-highway device including, but not limited to, vehicles commonly called a “4-wheeler”, “3-wheeler”, and “go cart”, 50 inches or less in width, having a manufacturer’s dry weight of 600 pounds or less, traveling on three or more low-pressure tires, designated with a seat or saddle for operator use and handlebars or steering wheel for steering control.
LICENSED. Having current license plates and certificate of registration.
MOTOR DRIVEN CYCLE. Those motorcycles commonly called “motor scooter”, “motorbike”, “minibike”, and “moped” with less than 150 cubic centimeter piston displacement.
MOTORCYCLE. Every motor vehicle having a seat or saddle for the use of the operator and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground, and upon or by which any person, persons, or property may be transported, but excluding a farm tractor.
OFF-HIGHWAY MOTORCYCLE. Any motorcycle designed to travel primarily off-highway including the vehicle commonly called a “dirt bike”.
SNOWMOBILE. A self-propelled device designed for travel on snow or ice or natural terrain steered by skis or runners, and supported in part by skis, belts, or cleats.
